In 1995 I received my Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina. Since then, I have worked as a therapist (LCSW, NC license # C002977) with a wide range of individuals in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, employee assistance programs and private practice. Throughout my career, I have effectively helped individuals struggling with relationship concerns, stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, family dysfunction, gay and lesbian issues, parenting, divorce, codependency, substance abuse, life transitions and college/work/career concerns.

My approach is insight-oriented and informed by psychodynamic principles, remaining sensitive to the unique needs of each individual. My style is warm, interactive and collaborative. Together, we clarify what you want to achieve or understand, explore your relationships and observe, identify and change patterns that are undesirable. Your increased self-awareness allows you to express yourself in a more effective, healthy and genuine way, resulting in more fulfillment, connection and joy.

My office is conveniently located in the historic Williams-Park House at 1405 Hillsborough Street.
